| Reamstown is located at 40°12′43″N, 76°7′3″W (40.212046, -76.117587)GR1. The town was named after Eberhard Ream, who founded it in the 1740s. It was originally known as "Zoar" according to a local highway marker. Reamstown is also the location of the famous Green Dragon flea market. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.9 km² (2.3 mi²), all land. As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 3,498 people, 1,161 households, and 897 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 595.0/km² (1,542.0/mi²). There were 1,194 housing units at an average density of 203.1/km² (526.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.23% White, 0.31% African American, 0.26% Native American, 2.23% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.80% from other races, and 1.14% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.92% of the population. There were 1,161 households out of which 41.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.9% were married couples living together, 6.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.7% were non-families. 18.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.85 and the average family size was 3.25. In the CDP the population was spread out with 28.6% under the age of 18, 6.0% from 18 to 24, 33.3% from 25 to 44, 19.8% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 99.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.6 males. The median income for a household in the CDP was $53,423, ..."
